Eight members of the class of 1985, including six members of the `85 boys basketball team, were in Stanstead  on March 4, 2006 along with many other alumni, faculty, former faculty and friends to participate in  and cheer on the alumni at the 3rd annual alumni basketball game (see photo gallery and videos below)

This year's event has a special twist as the school along with alumni, faculty, and friends paid tribute to Brian Denney `67.  Brian,  who has been a fixture at Stanstead for nearly 40 years, as a teacher, coach, Director of University Guidance and now our Alumni Affairs Coordinator, was completely surprised when it was announced that the new scoreboard was being dedicated in his honour. 

Following the ceremony the alumni team comprised of Stephen Telling `93, Jeff Supino `97, Riad Salem `85, Terry Burgis `85,  Pat Quinlan `85, Jamie Gilchrist, Pat Kelly `85, Philippe Gilbert and Katherine Wright `01 took on some of our senior basketball players and Amy Wolfe (headmaster's wife).  Down 23 to 8 after the first half, the alumni team fought back hard in the third and fourth to tie the game and eventually win after TWO overtimes.  Final score: Alumni 62 Spartans 54. 

To date over $7,000 has been raised towards the new 'Denney' scoreboard.  These donations have come from alumni, current and former faculty and staff.  If you would like to be a part of this tribute to Mr. Denney it is not too late.  Click here for more info on how to make a donation to the school.
