Ever Increasing Popularity and a Great Time are The Advancement & Alumni Office hosted the fifth annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament at the popular and scenic Dufferin Heights Country Club on Friday, May 26. The total number of participants has risen steadily every year since the present format was established in 2002 and this year was certainly no exception as we enjoyed our largest annual increase from 81 golfers in 2005 to 104 this year. Even more encouraging is the fact that the number of alumni participants has also grown steadily and has more than doubled since 2002. The beneficiary of the event is, of course, the College’s Scholarship and Bursary Program, with all proceeds going towards providing young men and women the opportunity to experience a Stanstead education. Due to the increased turnout at this year’s event we are pleased to report that for the fourth straight year we easily exceeded the previous year’s total. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this day a success, from the organizers and many generous sponsors, without whom there would be no tournament, to the Dufferin Heights staff and the Stanstead prefects who made everyone feel welcome and well taken care of. And, of course, thank you to the golfers who came out to support this worthy cause. We can’t wait to do it all again next year. |
