Lise taught French (second language and mother-tongue) during her time at Stanstead College. Aside from teaching, she was responsible for the improvisation club and was coach of the swim team. Every morning she could be seen in assembly behind the piano for the daily hymn. Lise went on to teach at Ashbury College in Ottawa after leaving Stanstead in 1991.
MCRAE, Rick Stanstead
Rick was a member of the Class of ’67 and went on to continue his studies at Queen’s University. He then returned to Campbellton to work in the family business, McRae’s Apparel, the town’s oldest family-owned business. Rick ran the store for the next 37 years until it closed earlier this year. With his wife, Elaine, Rick was also owner of Simply For Life, a weight-loss program, and had an interest in Game Face Graphics Inc., a graphics design company. Rick was also a respected and very involved member of the Campbellton business community and a supporter of amateur sports. From 2001 to 2004, Rick was a member of the Stanstead College Council of Trustees. Rick is survived by his wife Elaine and sons Jesse (Class of 2002) and Justin along with four siblings. A funeral service was held May 28 in Campbellton. |
