Community Service is a key aspect of life at Stanstead College – or to be precise, life outside Stanstead College. Students who take part in Community Service visit residents in nearby seniors’ homes, walk the dogs at an animal shelter, sort and organize books for the monthly Rotary Club book sale, and work with young children at local after-school programs. It’s a way to help the community and learn the importance – and joys – of helping others.
Stanstead College is also a member of Round Square, an international association of schools that promotes student leadership, community service and global understanding. Our Round Square members participate in many awareness-raising activities and fundraising here at the school and have the opportunity to participate in international conferences.
In addition, for the past several years, students and teachers from Stanstead College have spent their March breaks helping build homes in Mexico and Ghana in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. (Watch the video of recent trips.)
Stanstead College doesn't just look to the world; the world looks to Stanstead College. Every year, we welcome exchange students from schools in Germany, Australia, India, Kenya, South Africa, across the globe. In addition, we provide placements for Gap students hoping to spend a year as a member of our junior faculty. If you would like to know more about Gap and exchange possibilities, contact us.
Did you know…?
In recent years, Stanstead’s Round Square delegates have travelled to India, Peru, Scotland and Australia.
