You never know...

Today I would like to share a piece of news with you. By now many of you may have heard of the disaster that occurred on board the S.V. Concordia Wednesday of last week. The tall ship, which is operated by West Island College’s Class Afloat program, was sunk off the coast of Brazil. Class Afloat operates a high school and first year university program that allows students to study abroad while sailing around the world. The Concordia was sailing through rough seas when it was struck by a sudden downdraft of extremely strong wind. The ship was completely capsized and sunk within 20 minutes leaving its crew stranded at sea for the next 40 hours until the Brazilian navy rescued them. Luckily all hands aboard were able to make it to safety.

The sinking of the Concordia is a prime example of how sudden circumstances can change and your life can be in peril. So go out and live life to the fullest because you never know what’s waiting for you in the world.
