Show your Spartan pride

Today I will be speaking to you about school spirit. I believe that school spirit plays a major role in the involvement of Stanstead College students. We are all in some way driven to emphasize our pride for our school and community. School spirit strengthens communities and teams because members have a sense of belonging and pride for what they do. Businesses and future employers benefit from people who carry strong emotional connections with their communities because loyalty to one’s school can mean loyalty to a job, which is an extremely desirable trait in an employee.

Producing school spirit is especially simple in an environment like Stantead’s. We have opportunities all around us, such as sports games, plays, talent shows, Homecoming and dances. These are just few of the hundreds of activities that you can join to show school pride. It doesn’t matter what sport you play or what club you do, we are all part of one team, The Spartans! So I urge you all to get involved and show your Spartan Pride.

As Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of coloured ribbon.”

And I believe we are like soldiers, Spartans, who will run the extra mile and skate the extra strip or make the extra basket just for our pride of red and white.

Will you?
