Stanstead College Alma Mater

Written by John Clark Reilly

Composed by A. Harlow Martin (Head of Eastern Townships Conservatory of Music)

In Canada’s broad Dominion
From East to the Golden West
Our College, in our opinion
Stands worthy to rank with the best
We’re proud of our Alma Mater
Her praises resound afar
Our love, day by day, grows greater
For Stanstead, our Guiding Star

(Chorus)
Then here’s to Stanstead
Our Alma Mater
We shall never cease to love her
Though afar we chance to roam
And her sons will ever fight
To uphold the truth and right
And the honour of our dear old College Home

We study the writers’ classic
Or delve not science deep
Some master the art of music
While others have books to keep
But all join in one endeavor
To learn and uphold the right
we’ll rally round her ever
Old Stanstead, the Red and White

We’re gaining an education
To fit us for after life
And soon we shall take our station
Far out in the world’s great strife
In many a fierce encounter
‘Twill help us, as we recall
Our life at our Alma Mater
Old Stanstead, the best of all.
