Senior Program

Secondary IV & V
All students in the senior grades are required each yearto take English, French, Mathematics, at least one Science course and one course in the humanities. The minimum course load in Secondary IV and V is six courses.

To qualify for the Quebec Secondary School Diploma, students must fulfill the requirements as stipulated by the Quebec Ministry of Education (MEQ).

The normal course patterns at the senior level are as follows:

Secondary IV

COMPULSORY:
English (400 Level)
French or Français (400 Level)
Mathematics 436, 426 or 416
History 414
Career Education 411
Physical Science 436
Physical Education 412

Physics and Chemistry with ONE elective
(7 courses) may replace Physical Science
with ONE elective (6 courses).
 
ELECTIVES ARE:
Computer Science
Art
Music


Secondary V

COMPULSORY:
English (500 Level)
French or Français (500 Level)
Mathematics 536, 526 or 516
Career Education 511
Physical Education 512
 
THREE ELECTIVES of which at least ONE must be a Science course:
Physics 534
Chemistry 534
Biology 534
Economics 514
Art 534
History 514
Computer Science 534
*Physical Science 436 (as a 7th course semestered, if MELS credit is missing)
* History 414 (as a 7th course, semestered if MELS credit is missing)
