On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of Stanstead College, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the AAESQ Provincial Hockey Tournament . It was an honour to host this prestigious event in 2003 and we look forward again to an exciting two days of excellent hockey, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
This edition of the AAESQ is particularly special because it is the first edition conducted under its new official name, the Graham Neil Tournament. A Phys Ed professor at McGill University, Graham Neil taught many coaches involved in high school athletics and played a major role in promoting and preserving AAESQ tournaments over the years. We are pleased to be able to honour him in this way.
I would like offer a special thanks to André Simard, our Director of Athletics, and our coaches, Mike McNamara and James Rioux, for their efforts in helping to organize and execute this event. Thanks as well to arena manager Marc Parent for ensuring our ice is in tip-top shape during the tournament.
I hope the visiting players, coaches, parents and fans will take advantage of this weekend to enjoy some Stanstead hospitality, and I wish all the teams the best of luck in the tournament.
