Format

This will be a five team round-robin tournament with a final. Each school will play the other four schools once in round-robin play.. After this round robin, teams will be placed from #1 to #5 according to their game results from round-robin play. The teams ranked #1 and #2 will then meet in the championship final. Each team is guaranteed four games, with the finalists playing five.

Standings

Teams will be awarded 3pts. for a win, 1 pt. for a tie, and 0 pts. for a loss. Ties will stand during the round robin draw.

Tie-Breaker

In the case of a tie in team standings after the round-robin, the following shall be the tie-breaking procedure in order: the round-robin game result between the tied teams; fewest total goals against {GA} in all round-robin games; most maximum goals for{MGF}(to a maximum of +5 over the opponent’s score per game) in all round robin games; fewest total penalty minutes in all round-robin games.

Overtime (Final)

In the event of a tie in the championship game, there will be five-minute, 4 on 4 ( 4 skaters and a goaltender) sudden-death overtime periods. In the event of a penalty, a player will be added rather than subtracted. There will be a maximum of two overtime periods (ice time permitting). If still tied after the overtime periods, a sudden-death (1 vs 1) shootout will ensue until a winner can be declared. Any player may be used, and player(s) may shoot multiple times.

Rules

C.A.H.A. rules. Each game will be 3 periods of 15 minutes stopped-time. The ice will be resurfaced after the warm-up and after the second period of each game. The Championship Final will be 3 periods of 15 minutes stopped-time with a resurface between each period.

Minor penalties: 1 minute 30 seconds (stopped time).

Major penalties: 3 minutes (stopped time).
