I’m pleased to unveil the new name for a longstanding tradition at Stanstead College. What was once known as the Annual Fund is now the Red & White Fund.

Why the name change?

We felt “Annual Fund” was vague and didn’t reflect Stanstead College and the purpose of this campaign, which is to encourage alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the school to financially support initiatives not covered by tuition fees. These include academic and sports competitions, music and art supplies, professional development for teachers, library resources, improvements to facilities, and, of course, scholarships and bursaries. And what better way to reflect this than through the school colours: red and white.

Our school colours make us stand out. They are symbols of pride and loyalty. They evoke memories of being part of the team. They are Stanstead College.

By renaming our annual fund the Red & White Fund, we are reinforcing the idea that when you make a contribution, you are supporting your school.

Why now?

Traditional funding sources for schools like Stanstead College are shrinking as more and more organizations seek support from the charitable purse. Remember: Stanstead College receives no government funding. While this allows us to remain independent and responsive to the needs of our students, it makes us dependent on personal generosity to continue providing a superior education to our students.

The Red & White Fund is the engine that drives our ongoing fundraising efforts. With this year’s campaign target set at an ambitious $200 000, we felt that now was the time for a name change and a renewed focus on giving.

Why you?

As someone who values a Stanstead College education, you understand the importance of going that extra step for our students, inside the classroom and out. Like our school colours, Stanstead stands out not only through our focus on academics but also through our commitment to sports, the arts, community service and developing well-rounded young men and women.
