New York Festivals of Music
In April 2006, the Stanstead College jazz band and choir traveled to the Festivals of Music in New York. This was the first major competition for the young musicians since the College’s Music Program was re-introduced five years ago.
The musicians performed very well, reports head of the Music Department Nathalie Roy. Marks for both the choir and the band were just under the 80 percent or “excellent” threshold. Congratulations to all for a job well done.
School performances
On Thursday, May 25, 2006 the Jazz Band performed for Sunnyside Elementary School, with a subsequent performance for Ecole Jardin-des-Frontieres the following week. As you can see, the performance got toes tapping, fingers strumming and hands clapping...
