What's it like?

 

One day at Stanstead College...

AM    
7:30
  Time for breakfast in LeBaron – pancakes today. Yes!
8:10
  Morning Assembly. Lots of birthday announcements and
a presentation by prefects. Have to get clothes to the laundry.
8:30   First class. Watched webstream about global warming.
10:25   Break. Off to the Student Centre to grab a noodle cup.
A few minutes to play some pool.
10:45
  Back to class. Science. Any class with explosions is a good class…

12:45
  Lunch in LeBaron. Seating change today – met new
exchange student. Had three helpings of chicken schnitzel.
1:35   Two more classes. Guest speaker in English today.
3:30
  Sports. Intense practice to get ready for tomorrow's game.
5:00
  Down-time in the house. Played some guitar, emailed home.
5:30
  Supper. Can’t believe that happened! We laughed so hard!
6:30
  Yearbook Club. Uploaded a hilarious photo of the headmaster…
7:30   First half of study. Finally finished History paper.
8:30   Break. Crank the tunes!
8:45   Second half of study. Went for extra help in Math.
10:30   Lights out. Big day tomorrow.



What about the weekend...

There's never "nothing to do" at Stanstead College, even on weekends. "Something to do" is always an option.

Organized weekend activities vary throughout the year and include:

  • Lip-synch contest

Thanksgiving break – senior soccer teams travel to CAIS tournaments – Grade 10 trip to Quebec City – prefect-faculty soccer game – fall sports playoffs – Halloween dance

November
Senior Science Fair – Fall Athletic Assembly – mid-term break – Senior Girls Basketball Tournament – Remembrance Day – Parents’ Day

December
Christmas dinner and carol service – Christmas dance – exams – end of term

January
Senior Boys and Girls Hockey Tournaments – Academic Assembly – Winter Carnival – lip-sync contest – faculty-prefect broomball – snow sculpture contest – Multicultural Week

February
Junior Science Fair – mid-term break – Anderson-Bailey Basketball Tournament – winter sports finals

March
Faculty-prefect basketball – Winter Athletic Assembly – school play – Café Cappuccino – Winter All-Campus Games – end of term – international service trips

April
United Nations Day – CAIS rugby tournaments – all-school speech competition – beach dance

Grade 11 trip to Ottawa – mid-term break – spring all-campus games – graduation dinner and dance – advisee barbecue
