POSTPONED: Homecoming 2021
Dear alumni and friends,
We regret to announce that all 2021 Homecoming Celebrations, scheduled for September 25, must be postponed. While the situation in Quebec is far improved compared to a year ago, the continued prevalence of COVID-19, especially the more infectious variants, compels us to err on the side of caution. The top priority for the school is the well-being of our student body and allowing a large gathering of outside visitors runs counter to that priority. Indeed, Stanstead College is restricting all visitors during these early weeks of the school year.
The decision to postpone was not made in haste, and we hope that everyone will understand. Planning has been underway for months, and all summer we have been looking forward to finally welcoming you back to campus.
Unfortunately, trying to postpone for a short period until later in the fall would only extend the uncertainty for people who plan to attend. Because of this, we are looking at potential dates in the Spring of 2022. We hope there will soon be a time when we can say without a doubt that we can all gather freely and enjoy each other’s company with few if any limitations.
The Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament is still going forward as this is an off-campus event that poses no additional risk to the student population. There will be additional communication about the golf tournament in the coming days.
