Hockey Players of the Month (September)

 

These four Spartans have been named the September Players of the Month for their consistent efforts on ice during weekly practice as well as their early performances during our opening games.

 

The varsity girls defensive player of the month is team captain Stéphanie Bourque. The third-year veteran from Moncton, New Brunswick leads the way with her calm presence on and off the ice. The smooth skating Union College commit will provide much stability on the back end this year.

 

The varsity girls offensive player of the month is Alice Sauriol, from Sherbrooke, Quebec. In Grade 12 and in her second year at the College, Alice continues to demonstrate her high-end skill and talent with the puck. In fact, in the first three games, she tallied 4 goals and 3 assists to help lead the charge. The St. Cloud University commit is constantly smiling and a real electric player to watch.

 

On the boys’ side, the defensive player of the month is team captain Liam Steele, a towering right-shot defenseman from the UK. Liam is in his second year at the College and in Grade 12. He is a true two-way veteran with tremendous leadership, ability and potential because of his positive attitude and desire to be successful. The Cornell University commit has begun the year well and will be called on to play big minutes in the months ahead.

 

The boys’ offensive player of the month is alternate captain Jeremy Leroux, a 2006-born forward in Grade 10 from Mirabel, Quebec. Jeremy is an elite skater with a tenacious approach to the game. In the final period vs BCS, Jeremy notched the tying goal on a skilled baseball-type play, batting the puck out of thin air in front of the net. Jeremy is a joy to watch both in practice and in game situations. As a student of the game, Jeremy is constantly seeking feedback and looking to get better.
