Second-Year Spartan Drafted in QMJHL

Varsity Boys Hockey Spartan Jeremy Leroux was selected Monday by the Chicoutimi Saguenéens as the 18th pick in the first round of the QMJHL draft.

Having just completed Grade 10, Jeremy joined the varsity boys team as a Grade 9 student two years ago.
“Jeremy is a terrific talent,” said head coach Matthew Thompson. “He has a natural ability to score goals and make plays offensively, but most importantly he hunts pucks and ensures to contribute defensively. His game will continue to go but his future is very bright! Our whole staff is proud to see him selected in the first round.”

In their final scouting report, First Down Sports described Jeremy as a “strong skating winger, plays a lot bigger than his size, great compete level, solid hockey IQ, processes the game very well, has great instincts, pucks and a very good release, could play up and down any lineup, brings tons of energy and skill every time he steps on the ice, will have to get a little stronger to reach his full potential at the next level, but definitely possesses all the attributes to be an extremely effective player at the Q level.”

Congratulations, Jeremy.
