May 4, 2020: Over the past several weeks, it has become increasingly clear that holding a Language Adventure camp this summer will simply not be possible. For example, we expect the mandatory 14-day quarantine to remain in force for all international travelers arriving in Canada, resulting in many campers missing as much as half the camp. Secondly, many of our camp activities are off campus, and most public venues are expected to remain closed at the recommendation of the Quebec government.
Due to these restrictions along with our foremost concern for the safety of our campers, we regret that we have no choice but to cancel this year’s Language Adventure.
A fun-filled Canadian environment with campers from around the world!
Summer of adventures
At Stanstead College, our summer campers learn English, French or Spanish through a unique immersion program that includes classroom learning plus outdoor and cultural excursions and other on-campus activities.
Students in groups of 9 to 15 receive instruction at three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Classroom instruction focuses on speaking, listening, reading and writing exercises. Participants become more confident in their second (or third) language by improving comprehension and developing their spoken vocabulary and grammar. Students are motivated to speak their language of study at all times in the class and while at play in order to get the most out of their camp and learning experience. At the end of camp, advanced-level students will undergo TOEFL Junior testing.
Learn English, French, or Spanish! Live a language immersion and develop lifelong skills and friendships.
Cultural and Recreational Activities
Learning a second language has never been so much fun! The Stanstead College Language Adventure Summer Camp has organized a Monitor-in-Training Program since 2003. MITs are students who are given an elevated level of responsibility as well as an extra set of privileges. We encourage former Language Adventure students who wish to pursue a future summer job opportunity to send their résumés to:
"In our opinion, it was a great experience for our children. We are really grateful for this useful and interesting language program, for your amazing adventure trips, delicious meals and very warm atmosphere. It goes without saying that the teachers and staff are professional, friendly and always ready to help."

"I cannot thank the Language Adventure enough for the great time my daughter Sophia had during the last summer camp. In my daughter’s words, ‘It’s a place that you would come back to without hesitation.’ Wonderful work! Keep it up! Saludos!"

"Philip and Alexander have been going to the Summer Camp for three years. They enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends, the special bond that forms from competing in the games and sports and especially the camping and outings. Oh yes, they also don’t mind learning more French. Last year, two cousins from Vancouver joined them and all had a blast. If the boys are telling and getting their cousins to join, we know that they are very positive about the experience. As parents, we see the camp as a fun place where the staff know how to motivate the kids and combine fun and learning in a safe and friendly environment."
