The varsity girls continued to be a threat this past November. Finishing the month with a season record of 16-0. The varsity boys spent the entirety of the month on the road traveling to the United States, excluding one game at home versus Kimball Union.
Stéphanie Bourque, a Grade 12 from Moncton, NB, contributed significantly on both ends of the ice this month. It is for those reasons she is named varsity girls defensive player of the month. In a total of 7 games, she had 8 goals and 8 assists, with a +/- of +21. Even players on the other team came up to the coaching staff and were in awe of her ability to make plays with the puck, score goals and most importantly shut down the other team’s offence. She is truly a player you hate to play against but love to have on your team.
Throughout the month of November, Emma Kreisz, a Grade 12 from Hungary, has been a threat to score every time she touches the puck. Whether her goals are one-timers on the power play or rebounds out front, she finds a way to put the puck in the back of the net. This month, Emma stepped up and helped our team come home from Vancouver undefeated. Recording two hat tricks over the course of the month Emma Kreisz is the varsity girls offensive player of the month.
Aksel Jalojarvi, a Grade 12 from Finland, is the varsity boys’ defensive player of the month for the second time in a row. From Minnesota to Aurora, he has played huge minutes and in a style that is extremely difficult. Aksel will do anything to help the team be successful, and often this means blocking shots and playing in the dirty areas of the rink. A passionate and emotional player, Aksel has found a new level of play of late.
Chaka-Benjamin Ntumba-Muntu, a Grade 12 from Laval, Qc, is the offensive player of the month for the varsity boys not simply because he has been a point producer but also because he has driven play with his energy. Chaka always gives 100% effort, which has allowed him and his linemates to play against the elite teams we have seen this month. His work ethic on the ice should be the model for all forwards on the team.
