COVID Response Plan

Vaccinations

Updated September 9, 2021

At this time, Stanstead College is not mandating vaccination against COVID-19. However, we strongly encourage all students, faculty and staff to receive two doses of a vaccine recognized by the Canadian government.

In accordance with the Quebec government and the school’s own policies, students who are not adequately vaccinated against COVID-19 will face restrictions in certain areas, including the inability to participate in indoor sports, outdoor team sports or group sports or use weight and fitness rooms. Limited non-competitive athletic options will be available for unvaccinated students. Unvaccinated students will be required to stay on campus with the exception of school breaks.

Students not fully vaccinated must wear a mask at all times indoors (including residence) except when in their own rooms.

As well, unvaccinated students and staff may be subject to regular rapid testing on campus at their cost (approximately $25 per test).

Unvaccinated students returning from breaks or weekend leave (boarders) will need to have a negative COVID test before their return and will also undergo a rapid test on arrival.

Should an unvaccinated student become ill with COVID-19, they will be require to recuperate at home and parents will be liable for all costs incurred.

The school will assist families in the vaccination of non-vaccinated students or partially vaccinated students as soon as possible following their arrival and/or completion of quarantine. The school will also, as necessary, assist students from outside Quebec in obtaining a COVID-19 “passport” (proof of vaccination). The school will likewise examine the possibility of a mobile vaccination unit designated for schools coming to campus, if needed and available.
