Grade 10 Science Fair winners

R. Murray
Students in Grade 10 displayed the results of their experiments at the annual Science Fair Thursday evening.
There were 35 projects in all, with the students working mostly in teams of two to determine whether their hypotheses panned out under the empirical evidence.
First Place for his experiment "How does concentration affect the oxidation rate of iodide ions?" went to Matthew Campbell
Second Place went to Andrew Bouchard & Jeremie Gagnon for their "Stirling Engine" experiment.
Third Place was presented to Ellie Son for "The effect of the foods including antioxidants on oil rancidity."
This was a very close contest, with Honourable Mentions scoring in the 90s, including:
  • "How does the amount of carbon dioxide affect the rate of photosynthesis?" by Catherine Foulem & Jeniva Coffee
  • "How cobalt nitrate electroplated on an electrochemical cell affects its efficiency" by Tyler Carruthers & Oscar Haase
  • and "How much fat is in our food?" by Lou Kian Botton
Congratulations to all the Grade 10 scientists.
