Ten Spartans head to U18 Women's National

Eight members of the Stanstead College varsity and prep girls hockey teams will be representing Team Quebec at the 2025 U18 Women's National Championship to be held November 2-8 in Mount Pearl and Conception Bay South in Newfoundland. In addition, one player was named to Team Saskatchewan and a tenth to Team Atlantic.

Representing Quebec will be (from varsity) Rosalie Tremblay, Laurie Aubin, Zoé Charland, Maélie Laforge, Emilie Labonté as well as (from prep) Elizabeth Bélanger, Éloïse Gagné and Elizabeth Papineau.

Dior Stringer (varsity) will represent Saskatchewan, while Chanelle Ouellette (prep) of New Brunswick will don a Team Atlantic jersey.

“Congratulations to our girls on being selected to represent their provincial teams,” said Stanstead’s Director of Hockey Operations James Rioux. “We are very proud and excited for all of them and their families. This is an incredible accomplishment. All eyes will be watching as the action unfolds in NFLD in early November."

Stanstead College is by far the most represented school on Team Quebec’s 20-player roster. In 2024, the Spartans sent three players to Team Quebec, the year prior four players. This is the second appearance for both Laforge and Tremblay.

In 2024, three Spartans represented Team Atlantic and one in 2023. Dior is the first Spartan to represent Saskatchewan.

“The ten players from Stanstead College who have been chosen to participate for their province or region at Nationals is a tremendous testament to our girls hockey program and the school overall,” said Stanstead’s varsity girls hockey coach Bernie Pimm. “Through many years of hard work, dedication and an extraordinary level of support from everyone involved, we have become a world-class program that attracts, develops and advances world-class teenagers who love the game of hockey.”
