Meet Our New Faculty & Staff
Stanstead College is excited to welcome some new faces to our teaching and administration staff. In addition, some familiar faces have new roles. In addition to the alumni coaching and teaching staff previously mentioned, here is who will be roaming our hallways this year.
Céline Asselin: Céline was born in France and grew up in Martinique (FWI). She has had a very diverse career path and worked in many different fields, including accounting, finance, sales, and graphic design. Eventually, she followed the family path and went into education. She has taught from kindergarten through secondary school, including elementary school, in both France and Canada. For several years, she also taught French to adults. She moved to Montreal in 2015 and, three years ago, moved to the Eastern Townships. “I’m delighted to be joining the French Department at Stanstead College, and I look forward to meeting my new colleagues.”
Margaret Chalk: Maggie is originally from Belleville, Ontario and moved to the Eastern Townships early this summer after substitute teaching in Ontario for a few months following the completion of her Bachelor of Education at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, also at Trent University. At Stanstead College, Maggie will be teaching Science and Math as well as coaching swimming. “I have always loved spending time outside, and since moving to the Eastern Townships I have had a great time hiking mountains and biking along some of the trails nearby. I am an avid skier and am excited to be living in an area with so many ski hills!” In her free time, Maggie also enjoys playing the piano, singing, baking, and playing fetch with her cat.
Valerie Fasano: Originally from the South Shore of Montreal, Valerie is now happily settled in Magog. Over the past ten years, her career has taken her through classrooms, community programs, and corporate professional development workshops, working with learners of all ages, including individuals with visual impairments. In recent years, Valerie has focused on employee training in both soft and technical skills. She is excited to return to the classroom and teach the subject she cares deeply about: art, creation, and hands‑on making. Valerie also runs a small photography business with her partner, with whom she shares two energetic pups and a small flock of ducks and chickens. “I’m a keen foodie who loves baking for any occasion, especially birthdays for my favourite people. And whenever I can, I’m outdoors: walking the dogs, spending time by the lake, snowshoeing, and enjoying the nature that inspires me.”
Gianluca Iannantuono: Born and raised in Montreal by a wonderful Italian family, sports and athletics played a central role in Gianluca’s early life. Developed during his time at Loyola High School, his athletic journey led to the opportunity to study at Upper Canada College and travel the world. After graduating from UCC and retiring from competitive athletics, Gianluca returned to Quebec, originally to study economics, before quickly realizing his true passion lay in education. He studied Education at Bishop's University, eventually making a home in Sherbrooke. “When deciding where to launch my teaching career, only one place came to mind. Having a long history with Stanstead College (and fond memories of defeating them in goal for Loyola's hockey team—though I look forward to bringing Stanstead many victories now!), I knew this was where I belonged. I am thrilled to join the team and teach English and Humanities.”
Patrick Laliberté: Patrick joins Stanstead College after 12 years at École Montessori Magog, where he taught at the elementary level and was involved in developing and leading outdoor and technology education initiatives. He is passionate about creating engaging and authentic learning experiences for students. Sports and physical activity have also always been an important part of his life, both personally and through coaching and school activities. At Stanstead, Patrick will be teaching French across several grade levels, including AP French Language and Culture. “I am excited to begin this new chapter, get to know the Stanstead community and contribute to school life both inside and outside the classroom.”
Lindsay Tanis: Lindsay joins Stanstead College as the Chief Operations Officer, bringing 25 years of experience in federal financial management and comptrollership from across the Canadian federal public service. Throughout her career, she has led complex financial planning, costing, and internal control functions, giving her the breadth of experience well suited to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school — finance, human resources, IT, and facilities alike. Lindsay holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Lindsay was drawn to Stanstead by its outstanding reputation and the opportunity to bring her expertise to an educational setting, where the impact of good decision-making is felt directly by students, faculty, and the wider community. Outside of work, Lindsay is an enthusiastic traveler and sports fan, and finds balance through yoga and meditation. She is looking forward to getting to know the Stanstead community and contributing to its continued success.
Back for good...
Two faculty members who joined as at the end of last year, either as student teachers or recent Education graduates are back to join us. Originally from Regina, Sask., Victoria Bourget is back to teach in our Humanities Department. Charles Dion will be back to teach math as well as philosophy. Charles is originally from Quebec City.

Erik Van Dyke will assume the role of Assistant Head of School, Programs for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mr. Van Dyke brings more than 30 years of experience at Stanstead College, having served the school with distinction in a variety of roles. His deep understanding of our community has been shaped through his many years in the classroom, as well as through his previous leadership as Director of Student Life and Director of Athletics. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our students, our mission, and the continued growth of the school.
Patrick Fraser is the new Assistant Head – External Engagement & Institutional Advancement. In this capacity, he will oversee the Admissions, Advancement and Communications Departments. Patrick is entering his 15th year at Stanstead College, having served as a house director, Assistant Director of Admissions and more recently as the department's director. He is also now a Stanstead parent, with daughter Elizabeth entering Grade 7.
Eryn Hessian has accepted the role of Director of Academics. Eryn comes with over 22 years of experience at Stanstead College and a proven track record in driving academic excellence through curriculum design, faculty mentorship and university relations. She is the former President of the Canadian Independent School Counselors (CISC) and has experience in accreditation.
Two alumni will share the role of Director of Admissions. Logan Vanasse (2009) is responsible for recruitment & financial aid, while Kayla Ouellet (2017) will be in charge of international recruitment & strategy.
