Athlete of the Week: Inés M., Junior Girls Soccer

Last Saturday, the junior girls soccer team travelled to BCS where they had to leave with a win or a tie. This young Spartan came ready to play. In a dominating display down the righthand side of the field, Inés (Grade 8, San Pedro Garza García, Mexico) made cross after beautiful cross into BCS's penalty area, but the team just couldn't find the back of the net. Finally, one of her crosses was so precise it went through everyone, including the goalie, for the team’s first goal of the game. Now down 2-1, with about 30 seconds left, Ines took a corner kick which was blocked by a BCS defender. Luckily, it rolled back to her where she delivered another beautiful cross that was finished by Joyce Sisco to end the game a 2-2 tie. Mission accomplished for the squad! For her relentless effort and wonderful play, Athlete of the Week, from junior girls soccer, Inés.
