The coaching staff of the Stanstead College Senior Boys Soccer Spartans are pleased to announce their roster for the 2025 fall sports season.
This year’s edition of the Spartans is made up of 22 players featuring six Grade 12s, ten Grade 11s, four Grade 10 and one Grade 9 student. Returning for their third year at the senior level are the team leadership group consisting of Josh Lippmann (Newport, Vt.) Henry Riddell (Ayer’s Cliff, Qc.), Gabe DeSantis (Blainville, Qc.) and Noah Grenier (Stanstead, Qc.), in his second season with the senior squad. Suiting up for his second stint at the senior level is Felix Fortmann (Hardwick, Vermont, USA).
Moving up from the Junior Spartans ranks are Jack Adams (Orlando, Florida, USA), Chaz Faucher (Stanstead, Qc.), Zsombor Galambos (Budaors, Hungary), Louis Sullivan (Caumont-sur-Durance, France), and Mike Sun (Beaconsfield, Qc). Returning students but new to the senior soccer program are Mathieu Rémillard (Brossard, Qc.), Josh Seeback (West Horsley, England) who was injured all last season, Walker Smits (Stanstead, Qc.) and Liam Sumun (Stanstead, Qc.). Moving to senior from bantam isG 9 student, Renato Santibanez (Guanajuato, Mexico). Notably, third-year returnee and Grade 12 player Jeremiah O’Regan (Montreal, Qc.) will unfortunately not play for the Spartans this season as he recovers from recent shoulder surgery.
Playing their first season in the Red & White soccer jersey of Stanstead College are Grade 11 students Santy Bonilla (Mexico City, Mexico), Anton Lammers (Munich, Germany), and Kieran O’Brien (Torbay, Nfld.), and Rodrigo Higuera (Estado de Mexico, Mexico). Two young but very aspiring Grade 10s will tend to the Spartan goalkeeping duties this fall. Jacob Leduc (Mercier, Qc.), who has moved through both bantam and junior levels at Stanstead, will share playing time with returning student and Leduc’s goalkeeping pal from last year, Grayson Loughran (Newport, Vermont, USA).
Coaches Graham Chandler, Andre Simard and Jeff Standage were very pleased with the tremendous work ethic, positive attitude and effort of every player, especially in the team’s inaugural Red & White intersquad game, played on campus on Saturday, September 13. Already, the team camaraderie, a key characteristic of the team on display at this early point in the season, will be an important cornerstone if this eager bunch wants to achieve success, both in the ETIAC and CAIS tournament. All three coaches look forward to a very enjoyable and productive season ahead.
The Senior Boys Spartans kick-off their 2025 ETIAC league campaign with an away trip to Massey Vanier Regional High School on Tuesday, September 16, (4:00pm kick-off) before returning home to host two league games on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23 & 24.
A big highlight for the senior boys will happen after Thanksgiving when they host the CAIS Senior Boys National Soccer Tournament, October 16-18 on the friendly confines of the Stanstead College campus. All players and the coaching staff are looking forward to this great opportunity to showcase our school and team to twenty visiting Canadian independent schools in the middle of October.
Once again, the team looks forward to receiving tremendous support from families and friends! Please track the Spartans this fall (schedule below) as highlights and match reports will follow each game, home and away. Go Spartans!
