The Prep Hockey Spartans joined the QIHL in 2017-18 and was a member of the RSEQ from 2021 to 2024. In 2024-25, the team made its debut with the Canadian Sport School Hockey League and competed in the new Northern Schools Hockey Conference. The team is comprised of recruited student-athletes from Grades 9 to 12. The very best prep players move on to our varsity team. 

In the 2024-25 season, the Spartans were CSSHL U17 league and playoff champs and won the St. Andrew's Tournament.

  • Athlete of the Week: Éliot Faucher

    This Grade 10 student-athlete from Drummondville, Quebec, had an outstanding weekend during the Graham Neil Prep Boys Hockey Tournament. He led all defenceman in scoring during the weekend, with 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. He logged big minutes and was a shut-down force throughout the journey to the championship. He was rewarded for his strong play and leadership on the ice with the overall tournament MVP trophy. For his outstanding play in the big moment, congratulations, Athlete of the Week Éliot Faucher.
  • Prep Teams Win Big on Weekend

    It has been 17 years since the name “Stanstead College” has appeared on the Graham Neil Hockey Tournament plaque. But after a few near misses in recent years, the Prep Boys Spartans brought it home this past Sunday in an exciting final against Triolet of Sherbrooke.

  • Five Spartans picked in QMJHL Draft

    Malik L’Italien (Grade 10, Montreal, Que.) was picked third overall in the QMJHL draft Friday by the Halifax Mooseheads. Malik is a first-year Varsity Boys Spartan and the highest selected student-athlete in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He is also the highest pick Spartan in school history.

  • U15, Prep Hockey Teams Win League Titles

    Three Spartans hockey teams have won their league championships over the last month. The latest was the U15 squad, capturing the RSEQ Metropolitaine D2 title on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Heritage High School.

  • Athlete of the Week: Liam Armit

    This student-athlete from Ottawa, Ontario had an exceptional weekend at the Gary West Memorial Tournament at St. Andrew’s College. Liam scored six goals in five games against U18 AAA teams. He was the difference maker in the semi-final, scoring all four goals in the 4-3 win over Everest Academy. His tremendous scoring effort led to the team’s tournament championship, and he was awarded the individual tournament MVP. For his outstanding performance this weekend, Athlete of the Week from prep boys hockey, Liam Armit.
